Executive Director of Opportunity Link
Barbara Stiffarm serves as Executive Director of Opportunity Link, a non-profit community corporation whose mission is to find systemic ways to reduce poverty and help the communities of North Central Montana achieve independence, prosperity and a better way of life. She has served in this position since 2009 and works to support community engagement efforts to assess and mobilize existing assets and resources to build prosperity and opportunity. Barb has been integral in the development of innovative partnerships in Northcentral Montana including those that were formed in the establishment of North Central Montana Transit (NCMT) and the HUD Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Project for northcentral Montana. She currently serves as the Chair of the Montana Indian Business Alliance and as Vice-Chair of the Fort Belknap Investment Board. She served as a Director for the Helena Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis until December 2018 and as a member of the Community Advisory Committee for Policy Link’s Program for Environmental and Regional Equity. She was appointed by the Governor and served as an advisory member of the State of Montana’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Task Force until 2017. She is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe and has lived on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation since 1982.
